If you have forgotten a device password but can still access the menu of the device, you will need to factory reset the device. Once the device has been reset this will change the password back to the factory default.

If you have forgotten the password for your LILIN device and you cannot access the device’s main menu without being prompted to enter a password, you will need to contact LILIN technical support so we can help assist you to reset the password.

How Do I perform a LILIN HD camera factory reset?

If you experience an issue with your IP camera one of the fault finding process is to completely factory reset the IP camera using the emergency factory reset process which is usually a physical button or physical cable located at the camera itself.

Bullet / Dome Cameras
On most bullet and dome cameras there is a physical reset button located within the cameras internals. This will involve removing the cameras cover in order to gain access to the reset button.

Once access has been gained and the button located power the camera up and allow 2 – 3 minutes for the camera to boot up. Press and hold the emergency reset button for 30 seconds then release.

Turret / Sealed Camera Design
As a general rule of thumb, any sealed cameras such as the turret cameras have a reset cable located near the RJ45 connector at the end of the fly lead.

This will need to be stripped and shorted together for 30 seconds and then released and taped up so the ends cannot touch accidentally.

Power the camera up and allow 2 – 3 minutes for the camera to boot up. Short the cable together for 30 seconds then release and tape as above.

General NVR Questions

What is the default IP address for all LILIN NVRs?

The default IP address for all LILIN NVR’s is: 192.168.0.111

What HDDs do LILIN recommend using?

If you are using a LILIN Standalone NVR and wish to purchase and install your own hard disk drives or additional hard disk drives then LILIN recommend Western Digital Purple Series HDD.

These are surveillance grade hard drives designed to meet the demanding 24/7 needs a of HD CCTV recorder.

Is there any Remote Client Software for LILIN NVR?

There are various ways of connecting to a LILIN NVR remotely, the main way is to use a web browser, however sometimes using a web browser to connect in to an NVR is not always the most efficient way.

If this is the case it is recommended to use the LILIN Client software. This is a small piece of software that can be installed on a PC and run on demand to connect directly in to an NVR.

Live view and playback are supported via the client software and once configured the software is a very easy solution for end users when viewing their NVR.

Live view and playback of up to 144 cameras simultaneously
Easy configuration
Password-able to restrict usage
Easy backup for longer duration incidents
Backup/Combine multiple incidents video backup into one folder

What are the default ports to open when connecting remotely to my NVR / DVR?

It is no longer recommended to use the default ports when using port forwarding.
The default ports that are required to be open in the firewall to allow external connections to a LILIN NVR/DVR are:

HTTP: 80
Video: 3100

If you wish to externally connect to more than one NVR/DVR you will need to change the HTTP and Video ports used by each device so each NVR/DVR is using a unique HTTP port and Video port.

Example:

NVR 1 – HTTP Port: 80 – Video Port:3100
NVR 2 – HTTP Port: 81 – Video Port:3101
NVR 3 – HTTP Port: 82 – Video Port:3102

Please note changing the HTTP port from its default port 80 will change the URL you will need to use when connecting to the NVR/DVR. The new URL will need to follow this structure:

http://: e.g. http://192.168.0.200:81

Failure to insure you add the http:// at the beginning and the : at the end of the link will result in you not being able to connect to the NVR/DVR.

If this is the case, we recommend you download and install LILIN’s IPScan and simply double click the device you wish to access. This will open your PC’s default browser and insert the correct link including the correct IP address and port number automatically.

What should I do if my NVR displaying Video Loss on all cameras?

If your NVR is showing video loss on all cameras, please reboot the NVR, this will connect to all the cameras again.

Once all the cameras are displaying images once again, you will need to adjust your camera’s bit rate and possibly frame rate.

The cause of the NVR losing all its camera connections is the network card is being over loaded and the maximum bandwidth is being exceeded.
