Internal Sales Executive

QED is a family run northwest CCTV Security distributor based in Preston with over 26 years’ experience in this sector. We deal with national installers who supply the supermarket, retail and education sectors.

As a sales executive, you are responsible for looking after existing accounts by keeping in regular contact with our customers and ensuring we are meeting their needs and exceeding their expectations. You are also responsible for finding and developing new business and enhancing/increasing account spend for all accounts. This role requires you to provide an unrivalled level of customer care and the ability to work towards targets.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Achieve ISM weekly & monthly KPI’s
  • Set S.M.A.R.T Objectives
  • Focusing on generating new business whilst maintaining and developing the existing account base
  • Manage a set number of key accounts per month which may change over time
  • On a weekly basis review current spending and none spending accounts
  • To know who your top spending clients are and analyse the buying patterns
  • Introduce new products to existing accounts and try and tempt old customers with a tailored approach
  • Develop new accounts using all methods available. Maintain existing accounts using management information available
  • Achieve total customer base GM% and budget KPI’s
  • To attend client meetings when required by management
  • Chase up sales enquiries by E-mail and phone, delivering a minimum number of calls per week
  • Accurately enter customer details onto SAP/CRM and liaise with customers to resolve any queries
  • Sending order confirmation e-mails to customers noting any price differences/variances and expected delivery date
  • Maintain product knowledge using the most recent and up to date information enabling you to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the industry sector you serve
  • Become an expert on the competition and their products and services
  • To deliver all accurate forecasts and reports as required by management (Including SOFTO)
  • Report to management on how systems are impacting on day to day running of accounts and whether any adjustments/improvements are required
  • To be available for both internal and external training as and when required
  • To demonstrate a proactive attitude and an awareness of commercial activity to help maximise opportunities and develop new revenue streams
  • To demonstrate a positive and enthusiastic attitude to calls, meetings, presentations and clients and always represent QED in a professional manner whilst providing an unrivalled level of customer service
  • To effectively communicate with other departments to ensure we are providing a faultless service
  • Achieving Sales Targets and KPI’s (These include Call Rates & Quote Conversion Ratio)
  • Database Housekeeping (Contact information, Monthly Report Contact Reports, Quote status, Price lists etc)
  • Completing administrative work on time!
  • Assisting customers in the showroom when required
  • Communicate and live the QED “Good People” ethos
  • Clean Driving Licence – may have to use company vehicle or hire car for key account customer face to face meetings

Person Specification:

  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Confident, tact and a persuasive manner
  • Good organisational and time managements skills
  • Good ‘people skills’ for working with a range of clients and colleagues
  • Excellent relationship building skills at all levels
  • A willingness to work long hours, often under pressure
  • A professional manner
  • Good business sense and the ability to work to budgets

Pre-Sales/Technical Support Engineer – Security Equipment

Fancy joining a dynamic and fast growing company based in the North West? If so, we are looking for a Pre-Sales/Technical Support Engineer, to be based from our offices in Preston.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Assisting the Technical Manager in all aspects of the Technical Department
  • Resolving and recording 1st line support enquiries both internally and externally
  • Testing and diagnostics on RMA products
  • Pre-build and configuration of various types of equipment involved in security systems
  • Attending training and continually develop skills

You should have:

  • Experience in CCTV and IP Networks is essential
  • Knowledge of Wireless Transmission and Access Control would be advantageous, although not essential
  • Ability to work as part of a Team
  • Excellent communication skills
