These cables are primarily used for external connections of telephone equipment but are also suitable for use with other communication and control equipment or low level signalling applications. Designed to withstand conditions from snow and heavy rain to direct sunlight, these cables provide UV (ultra violet) and moisture resistance by being bedded in petroleum jelly and sheathed in tough durable polyethylene. Additional environmental protection in the form of a galvanised SWA (steel wire armour) makes this cable suitable for direct burial.
