Description
The armature and electro-magnet, when energised, holds a door securely fastened. This is achieved by creating a powerful magnetic field. When the power is cut the armature is released, thus giving access or egress through the doorway.
The magnet construction and armature material virtually eliminate residual magnetism; thus giving fail unlocked (fail-safe) release. This makes them ideal for emergency escape applications. This form of high security locking device is becoming increasingly popular where mechanical systems are not desirable, due to the high number of moving parts that can bind in hazardous and particularly panic situations.
These electro-magnetic locks can be specified to work in conjunction with any access or suitable egress control system.
